Wondering why I started a blog? This post reveals the 10 main reasons why I was inspired to start blogging.

Today’s blog as to why I started a blog is genuinely from the heart…
It was in my small apartment living room, talking to my roommate when it dawned on me. Blogging wasn’t an option, it was a calling. An unshakable feeling in my body, that I had to share my passion for leveling up with the ordinary girl boss out there. At that moment, I had no idea that my life would change forever. Actually, for the better…
So, let’s jump right in. Here are the 10 reasons why I started blogging.

1. Inspiration from another blogger
Believe it or not, inspiration was my number one reason why I started blogging. To be honest, the thought of blogging was never on my mind. In fact, I used to hate writing because it was just so exhausting.
But let me tell you, l met a girl crush on YouTube, and everything completely changed. I was looking at deck decor ideas when I finally found this Canadian girl gracefully showcasing her condo. So me being me, I followed her on all her social media platforms. When I was admiring her Instagram page, I also landed upon her website.
OMG, if this was blogging, then SIGN ME UP! Her blog was simply so chic, beautiful, authentic, and well organized. To summarize, it was all about beauty, style, travel, faith, marriage, and just life.
I just thought to myself that I needed to have something like that to inspire the ladies.
2. Creative outlet
The older you get, the more you realize that everyone needs a creative outlet. Life had become so boring for me being an adult. So it came to a point where I was very exhausted and depressed doing the same things over and over again.
Such as CLEAN, WORK, EAT, SLEEP, REPEAT. My day in day out routine also didn’t have a meaning. So, I needed a fun platform to showcase more of my other passions.
Because I am a multi-passionate individual, I needed a safe blogging space where I can talk about fun lifestyle topics, to heavy subjects about life.

3. Be a resource to women
I’ve always loved to offer people encouragement, ideas, and knowledge.
So, that is why I opted to create a blogging platform where a multitude of women can learn about something to improve their lives and become their most successful selves.
I’ve also realized that lack of information and education is the main thing that differentiates between the rich and the poor.
I would love to bridge that gap among my peers by sharing resources such as how to make money blogging or ways to succeed in life.
4. Start a side hustle
I wanted to create a side hustle that will bring me additional income because it is smart to diversify your income.
Believe it or not, you can never just depend on a company because you are sadly replaceable.
Therefore, for me, it was about creating systems and processes where I can earn side hustle money from affiliate marketing, brand deals, and advertisements.
5. Slowly move to the online digital space
Due to having most of my family living in Kenya, I wanted to take the necessary steps to achieve time freedom in life.
Therefore, I opted to create a platform where I can work from any part of the world at any time. I have always loved the thought of being my own boss, doing what I want, whenever I want.
All in all, isn’t the digital space where the money resides?
6. Share my personal journey and story
I wanted to create a safe space where I could openly talk about my personal journey and share my story.
Honestly, I’m so eager to speak life to women. I wanted to create a social media platform/ blog where I can talk to ladies about REAL life. The glamorous and unglamorous parts.
And also a platform to have fun, give hope, give encouragement and just share life as is.
7. Build a blogging community
I’ve been longing to have a community of like-minded women spinning conversations about success, growth mindset, self-improvement, money, motherhood, and adulthood in general.
Therefore, I am looking forward to building mutual, long-lasting relationships that I can take to every stage of my life.
In addition, I realized that social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook are borrowed land. One day if they close down or decide to get rid of my page, I would lose it all. The hard work I put in and the connections I make would be gone in a minute. Having a website that I own and having a true audience is very essential for me.
8. Look cute while blogging
Who doesn’t like looking cute? I’ve always loved dressing up, photoshoots and modeling. With a blog, I am always excited to showcase outfits and my favorite products.
It’s basically creating my own magazine that I get to share with the whole world. In summary, I’m just out here being the inspiration that I’d love to see in the world.
9. Find my why
I needed to find alignment in life. Having a fashion boutique for 3 months, I was super exhausted running it because I was chasing money instead of purpose.
As a result, I got to a point where I did not have a meaning to what I was doing. Something that I loved so much became depressing to do.
As a matter of fact, I knew I had to stop my unfulfilling lifestyle and take the time to know who I am. It took 9 months to educate myself and process if I wanted to go back to the fashion business.
But Instead, I resolved to start a blog, where I can take my pace to find myself and my reason for being.
10. Be a useful guide to anyone who wants to start a blog
Lastly, I wanted to guide and lead fellow women in the blogging journey. Therefore, for those who are interested in social media and blogging, I have chosen to be transparent in the ways I am moving my hustle forward.
I have also chosen to be open and blunt about what works and what doesn’t work.
