Having a set schedule for home, work and personal life is the first step to take to be productive.
Most of the time, people are not productive in their daily life because they do not know the specific thing they should be doing at the moment.

After you have established your monthly schedule, ensure to create a rough draft routine. Intentionally plan your sleep times, waking up times, weekend schedule, and break times. Additionally, know what specific activities make you feel a lot more productive in your daily life. Such as taking showers in the morning, waking up to the smell of fresh brewing coffee, dressing up before work, nightly skincare routine, no alarms on the weekends, etc.

For clarification, setting boundaries is not about being rigid with your time but about setting clear expectations. It’s also about giving time to the people who deserve it most, including yourself.

And that is why it is good to set your monthly schedule first. This is so that you can be able to communicate your availability with people in advance. In addition, planning for meet-ups, dates, and social events ahead of time makes you less flaky. We all become good friends when we also respect other people’s time as much as they respect ours. To be productive every day you need to automate tasks that don’t require you directly to complete. For example, you can:

- Get a Roomba robot to clean your house.
- Use social media apps to automatically post your pictures on Instagram and Pinterest.
- Bulk meal prep instead of cooking every day.

In addition, make sure to delegate any tasks that you do not enjoy doing anymore. Look at the opportunity cost of doing task A over task B. For example, I have noticed that my productivity is boosted by a bright, organized, and airy workspace. Moreover, my mood colors are whites, blush pink, tan, gold, and grey tones. Therefore, to ensure that I set myself up to be productive, I clean my workspace after work. Mostly, this is so that when I come back to work in the morning, everything is fresh and nicely placed for me to start the day. Honestly, this is such an unpopular opinion, but I am a true believer that you should work where you feel most productive. You don’t have to be strictly in an office setting to get work done. For example, if you cannot concentrate on studying and be productive in the quiet library, how about you go to a coffee shop instead? Therefore, schedule a time in your calendar to do self-care activities such as daily workouts, monthly hot yoga, or a pedicure and manicure. These simple lifestyle activities increase productivity because it breaks the cycle of work work work. Moreover, making healthy lifestyle choices always makes you want to do better.
