Just a little bio…
Lol! Let me first introduce myself a lil bit. I was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya. In October 2012, I moved to America with part of my family. Long story short, I currently have a full-time career in Accounting and am the proud founder of Mercy K.
About My First Entrepreneurial Story
At 23, I attempted to start my first business venture, Mercy K. Fashion, an online clothing boutique. Three months later, as my fashion boutique was beginning to pick up in sales (family & friends lol!), unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
Honestly, this is the moment I got a reality check.
Firstly, I was tackling a full-time accounting job and running a quiet business at night. Secondly, I had invested my hard-earned coins from my pocket. Lastly, I had reached a point where I had absolutely no time for myself, my family, and my relationships.
I was simply not thriving and did not admire the woman I had become. It was only the third month, and I was honestly completely drained and exhausted trying to chase money. Something I had really loved truly turned out to be a mental nightmare. My life had silently become a walking mess trying to balance between passion and work while being great at both.
About My Life Choices
When the pandemic hit, I had the option to either continue living a stressful and unfulfilling lifestyle or redirect my path. Well, I decided to give myself grace. I told myself that it was OKAY to start over. I made a conscious decision to be in control of my life. Not anyone else, but ME. Lol, yes me.
Therefore, I decided to stop my lil business, place my finances in order, move states, and invest a lot of time in self-education, and personal development.
Nine months later, I was inspired to start the Mercy K. Blog where I could motivate the ordinary girl who felt stuck in life and had no one to turn to for help. Also, it was my joy to wake up every morning knowing that I have encouraged just one girl not to give up and help her with resources to thrive and become the best version of herself.
AND I COULDN’T BE HAPPIER. (Literally screaming through the roof!!!). Yaaasss! I had finally found an exciting path that was in alignment with God’s purpose for me. In addition, I could nurture, grow, and build a community of like-minded women.
About My Purpose In This Space
I have always desired to be a successful multi-passionate boss babe doing absolutely what I love while making a positive impact. That is one of the main reasons why I created the Mercy K. Blog.
I aspired to have a platform where ordinary women like me could find tried and true tips to help them become the all-rounded best version of themselves.
Basically, inspiring women to:
Be CHIC & CLASSY JUST LIKE A MILLION BUCKSMercy Kimaliny
To me, this statement is deeper than a woman wearing an expensive designer outfit. It really means ordinary women leveling up in these five aspects of their lives:
- Outward & inward appearance and presentation.
- Health & wellness.
- Being in a thriving space & environment.
- Financial literacy & independence.
- Healthy relationships & community.
Basically, being a well-rounded, successful, confident, elegant, respected, and happy girl boss.
About My Tribe
If you like girl boss success topics and deep life conversations, then this platform is for you. Absolutely all are welcome. It really warms my heart. But my truth comes from my experience as a Black-African-Kenyan woman of faith living in America.
About My Drive In Life
My journey with change, not fitting in, and multi-passionate life has definitely not been easy. And that is why I want to share my story, strategies, and findings every step of the way to empower you.
The main difference between the Mercy K. blog and other amazing platforms is that I am not a blog to sell, but rather a blog with an influence.
I hope you have found much inspiration from learning about the Mercy K. Blog and Me.
I’ve chosen to be open, vulnerable, and transparent to show you that life is not about being perfect but taking small steps toward becoming the best version of yourself.
In addition, if you have read this far, it is not by coincidence because I strongly believe we have been brought together for a reason.
Therefore, if my story resonates with you, feel free to reach out. Let’s be friends because I can’t wait to chat with you more.
-Sincerely, Mercy Kimaliny
